Mexican certification is divided into 4 levels, and the cost is relatively complicated. If the factory has passed ISO 9001 certification, it is generally recommended that the factory do Class 3 or Class 4 certificate.
Level 1: Valid for one year, no requirement for factory system, application fee of $1045, replacement fee of $945.
Level 2: Valid for two years, required for plant system (refer to current US plant audit requirements), but not required for management system certification, application fee of $1345, replacement of $1245.
Level 3: Valid for three years, requires a factory Management System Certification (ISO-9001) certificate, $1,545 application fee, $1,445 replacement.
Level 4: No concept of expiration date, required factory Management System Certification (ISO-9001) certificate, application fee $1545. The annual fee is $1,095.
The certificate issued is in Spanish (the official language of Mexico) and is generally sufficient for the client to see. If you must have the certificate in English, there will be an additional $100.
Since the Mexican certificate requires the applicant to register with the Mexican customs and obtain a separate export approval number, it can be basically assumed that there is no possibility of additional companies. That is why Mexican certificates are currently applied for by local dealers rather than factories themselves. After all, Spanish is not as popular as English.
